Born in the city of Treviso, Renato Casaro is the most important illustrator the world’s film poster industry has ever had. He has worked with the most important directors of all time: from John Huston to Sergio Leone, from Claude Lelouch to Dario Argento, from Rainer Werner Fasbinder to Bernardo Bertolucci, from Giuseppe Tornatore to Kevin Costner,from Martin Scorsese to Francois Truffaut, to name a few. His memorable posters were designed to enclose in an image the spirit of the work, the soul of the director, the profile of the main actor, becoming a single fragment of the film as a whole. To this day, Casaro remains a fundamental part of the history of cinema, having painted over 1000 illustrations for the film industry.
