Rico: The Richard DeMarco Story

Rico – The Richard Demarco Story, celebrates the career of the iconic Scottish artist, teacher and pioneer of the international event as Edinburgh marks the 75th year of the festival.
The award-winning film is narrated by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Brian Cox, who is also a contributor to the documentary. As Richard Demarco tells the actor in the film: “My life is completely dominated by the Edinburgh festival, because Edinburgh during the festival becomes the world capital of international culture… and it’s not happening in England, Wales, Ireland or France, it is happening in Scotland.”
Filmmaker Dr Marco Federici delves deep into the legendary Demarco Archive and creates alove letter to the heyday of the Edinburgh Festivals Spanning seven turbulent decades, thefi lm uses previously unseen footage and images to chart Demarco’s journey in three chapters.
