Tracks Ahead

Premiering its first episode in 1990, Tracks Ahead has aired nearly 125 shows, highlighting thousands of miles of tracks from all corners of the globe. Hundreds of visits to model train layouts in personal basements and garages, dozens of stops at museums, historically significant rail sites and train attractions and countless interviews with interesting, talented, artistic and visionary railroad experts.

Tracks Ahead is a favorite among train enthusiasts because it gives rail fanatics a chance to visit exotic rail destinations they may only read or dream about.

Tracks Ahead presents the best of steam locomotives, railroad stories, model trains, scenic rail journeys and art. It also appeals to the staunch “railheads” as the program also features the technical aspect of trains and layouts.

Hosted by Spencer Christian, the Milwaukee PBS series is broadcast on more than 200 PBS stations across the country.
