Celebrating the remarkable life of Cecilia Chiang, who passed away aged 100 at the end of 2020, this series tells the story of the “Julia Child of Chinese cuisine.” In the 50s, Chinese food in the US was mostly westernized Cantonese food. In 1961 Ms. Chiang launched her legendary Mandarin Restaurant and influenced a new generation of chefs, revolutionizing Chinese cooking in America. Cecilia joins top chefs to recreate some classic dishes.
