Born 1964 in Khagaul, Bihar, India. Subodh is a one of the most exciting, internationally renowned artists in India. He lives and works in New Delhi. He is best known for using commonplace objects in stunning and thought-provoking sculptures. His work captures the everyday realities of life in India – the mix of the day to day and the divine. Kitchen objects, buckets, pots and pans, cow dung, loam, copper, bronze and gold all feature in his sculptures. His work can be funny and beautiful as well as raising big questions about the impact of globalisation and inequality in India today.
